On arrival the reception staff explained they had to remove $500.00 from my debit visa account because I didn't have a credit card, this was not explained to me by phone when I made the reservation. Check in took a very long time and the staff weren't overly friendly at all.

The room was great as was the view from our room. It was only a short walk to Spark Arena so great accommadation if attending a concert. I was a little bit disappointed in some of the staff...a couple of them were not that friendly or welcoming but there was one lady who served us when we departed who was really nice. Would definitely stay again due to its locality and room.

The hotel claims to be environmentally sustainable, so I was surprised to see plastic bin liners in the rooms, plastic straws in the bar and our room service beverages delivered in non-recyclable plastic packaging. May I suggest glasses for o.j and porcelain coffee cups (i didn't really want a takeaway style breakfast in bed.) Bin liners made of corn which are now widely available, and a complete ban on straws. Was also given stone cold pancakes and when I enquired if they had be defrosted and not cooked fresh staff could not provide an answer. Wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Great central location. Certainly quiet for sleeping up on the 13th floor, clean and fresh, extremly cmofortable bed

The lifts were unfortunately out of order, so there were big waits to get to our room. When we checked out we walked down from the 17th floor to save waiting to find all of the fire extinguishers in the stairwell were 2 years out of service and some emergency lighting wasn't working.

Check in was easy and rooms were reasonable. But on check out, only 1 elevator was working and a lot of people were checking out at the same time so there was no hope of getting on an elevator. So we took the stairs which come out in a courtyard with no visible doors to get back into the building. Not a great leaving experience.
